Don't Quit!!!

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit....
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.

So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit....
It's when things go wrong that you musn't quit.

Can MBA generate Entrepreneurs?

While I'm of the strong opinion that MBA fundamentals are to be found in genes not in GMAT, I got this link interesting link today. Inside the Bald Head of Josh Kaufman, I could see that people believe MBA can be achieved just by reading books, leave apart a Full Time MBA course. It's pretty interesting to read something which you have always been against :-)

So far I could never get convinced that a MBA can generate Entrepreneurs out of every damn person who can ace the some CAT or MAT. I believe MBA can blossom the hidden management talent inside a person but I could never digest every college fresher or IT engineer doing MBA to become master of business administration. How many people from the batch of Laxmi Mittal are decent enough entrepreneurs? How many class mates of Ambani's are playing in millions & billions? Simple enough, which MBA did my Dad do to grow a business over 20+ cities within 5 years from a state where he was a refugee to India? But yes, if my Dad would have done an MBA I could be playing with millions of USD than Indian Paisa :-(

This is a topic I’m always willing to listen different views on...

Loosing security over a chocolate bar :-)

Like passwords for chocolate?

Thirty-seven percent of commuters at Liverpool Street Station immediately revealed their corporate password when offered a chocolate bar to do so; another 34 percent accepted after the interviewer noted that it was most likely the name of their pet or their child. The survey, conducted by the organizers of Infosecurity Europe 2004, shows that employers are not educating their employees about the importance of information security, asserts Claire Sellick, event director for Infosecurity Europe 2004. The survey also found that most participants would prefer to use either biometric authentication or smartcards.

How simple the life could be?

For past few months I was feeling the good factor of shining India. Then I visited my home town and realized it's just that a part of India is growing and glowing and rest is all the same.

The lady(~19 yrs old) comes to help my mom at home and she goes to many *very well educated* houses in the colony. She knows how to operate all the funky electronic gadgets. She even came with cell phone once and was busy talking on to her husband when my mother wanted her desperately.

By chance I happen to ask her "what's the day today". She responded "What day"? I said "which day, as to which ‘var’(in Hindi)”. She says "What is var"? I told her like Sunday(ravivar), Monday(somvar)... She nicely responds "what's this. I don't know”. That raised my curiosity and I thought she was pretending not knowing it but that wasn’t true. She simply had not heard of anything like this. I asked her about the dates. All that she knew was a count till 5 plus a few more numerals. I asked how she knows when to take the salary. She said she just knew that.

It was and it is just unbelievable to me and I insisted her to tell me how she counts the days. She simply had nothing to tell. The reality was she knew today, tomorrow, day after tomorrow... yesterday etc... but that’s where it ends for her. She never realized the need for anything more :-)

I wonder is the life really this simple? In the 21st century of glowing India can I really believe this? I really don’t know...
